The Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) program and Showcase Schools program are a part of our Microsoft Education Empowerment programs to recognize global educator visionaries like you.

Program Overview Who should fill out the self-nomination form?
MIE Expert

Notice: MIE Expert self-nomination window is open from May 9 – June 26, 2023 for the 2023-2024 cohort. Announcements will go out in late July 2023.

We are looking for self-driven educators who are passionate about teaching and learning, who inspire students with creative thinking, and work in a collaborative spirit. MIE Experts:

  • Have adopted current research-based teaching and learning practices, take risks, and strive to improve their pedagogy to integrate technology tools that improve student outcomes.

  • Model that failure is an opportunity to reflect and learn as well as resiliency.

  • See the MIE Expert community as a valuable Professional Learning Community that helps them continue to improve their own practice.

  • Are seen as a leader in their school and school system

  • Provide coaching/mentoring to other teachers and support their growth

  • Partner with principals and school leaders in whole school/system transformation

  • Are comfortable presenting in front of other educators/leaders and sharing their stories of growth and learning

  • Look for ways to give back to the teaching profession (MIE Experts get back what they put into the program)

The term educator refers to classroom teachers, school leaders, professional learning specialists, instructional assistants, trainers, or anyone who supports teaching and learning and wants to grow their skills and support others.

The term learner refers to anyone who is receiving instruction from you. Examples are adults that you are training, students in a classroom, or colleagues that you work with that you are training.



Before you start your nomination, please download this Word document and use it to carefully plan your responses . Read carefully about how the two-phase nomination process works so that you can give yourself enough time to resubmit if your nomination doesn’t pass the first phase!

Educators
The term educator refers to classroom teachers, school leaders, professional learning specialists, instructional assistants, trainers, or anyone who supports teaching and learning and wants to grow their skills and support others.

Microsoft Showcase School Program – Incubator Path: Existing/ Operational Schools

Open to any school who has begun the journey to whole school transformation to improve teaching and learning. Leaders, once you've joined the Microsoft Showcase Incubator, you will get supported with your transformation plans by Microsoft, its partners and other schools in the Showcase School program. Putting you on a path to becoming a Showcase School.

Microsoft Showcase School Program – Incubator Path: Brand New School Project

The Microsoft Showcase School Program partners with like-minded leaders from around the world to design, develop, and deliver amazing new schools to learn. This track is designed to select a limited number of schools who share our vision of creating holistic examples of transformation in action. We are excited to learn more about the school you are planning to open whether brick-and-mortar or virtual.

Only fill this nomination in if you are building a new school that has an opening date at least 18 months from today’s date.

Please note that in the UK and the US, the Showcase School Program is an annual program. Applications are reviewed and accepted in the summer and the program begins in the fall.
